Обнаружена критическая уязвимость в Adobe Flash Player
Обнаружена критическая уязвимость в Adobe Flash Player 10.0.45.2 и Adobe Reader/Acrobat 9.x, которая потенциально может быть использована для взлома учетных записей MMORPG World of Warcraft, об этом сообщил сотрудник Blizzard Entertainment на американском форуме проекта.
Самая свежая версия Adobe Flash 10.1 – Release Candidate 7 не содержит данной уязвимости, поэтому всем игрокам рекомендуется обновить свой Flash-проигрыватель до нее как можно быстрее (скачать ее можно на сайте производителя). Разработчики просят обратить внимание на то, что описанная выше уязвимость не является вирусом – чтобы защитить себя от негативных последствий такого рода, нужно постоянно обновлять свою систему, включая Flash.
Стартовал конкурс на участие в бете дополнения Катаклизм
Подготовка к бета-тестированию дополнения World of Warcraft: Cataclysm идет полным ходом. Так, американский официальный сайт Blizzard Entertainment объявил о проведении конкурса среди гильдмастеров, участники которого смогут выиграть право на участие в бета-тесте 10 членов их гильдий. Для этого потребуется лишь рассказать Blizzard, почему именно вы и ваша гильдия являетесь лучшими кандидатами, а затем сотрудники компании, руководствуясь неведомыми критериями, отберут победителей.
Для участие в конкурсе нужно написать короткое эссе – от 50 до 250 слов, объясняющих выгоды привлечения вашей гильдии в качестве бета-тестеров, и отправить электронное письмо с ним по адресу blizzardcontest@blizzard.com.

Музыкальный ивент Video Games Live будет проведен летом
Американская телестанция PBS проведет музыкальный ивент Video Games Live летом 2010 года, сообщает официальный сайт MMORPG World Of Warcraft. Если вы любите музыку из видеоигр, в особенности – из игр Blizzard Entertainment, этот ивент – для вас.
Video Games Live – live-концерт в Новом Орлеане, США, в котором примут участие филармонический оркестр и хор Луизианы. Как утверждается, лучшие музыканты мира сыграют и споют музыкальные композиции из таких игр, как Mario, Zelda, Sonic, Halo, Final Fantasy, Castlevania, God of War, Civilization, Chrono Cross и Guitar Hero. Также будут исполнены: StarCraft II – основная тема Wings of Liberty, Lament of the Highborne из World Of Warcraft (в исполнении Ванги Гунн (Vangie Gunn), а также сюита Warcraft.

Premium-услуга World Of Warcraft без границ начала свою работу
Закончилось бета-тестирование нового сервиса от компании Blizzard Entertainment, предоставляющего возможность удаленного пользования аукционом MMORPG World Of Warcraft, об этом сообщил massively.com. Отныне – это официально поддерживаемое нововведение перешло в статус "live", а доступ к ней осуществляется посредством веб-сайта Оружейной или мобильного приложения для iPhone и iPod touch.
Игроки могут просматривать аукционы с полным набором функций поиска, доступных в игре, кроме этого, в режиме реального времени можно просматривать статус каждой текущей ставки за какие-нибудь $2.99 в месяц. Сервис World of Warcraft без границ позволяет покупать и выставлять на продажу предметы, находящиеся в сумках, банке или почтовом ящике персонажа; получать золото от ставок и лотов и др. Те, кто отказывается платить за эту услугу, по-прежнему смогут пользоваться аукционом в игре безо всяких ограничений.

A critical vulnerability has been discovered in Adobe Flash Player 10.0.45.2 and Adobe Reader/Acrobat 9.x, and could potentially be used to target World of Warcraft players and accounts. The newest available version of Adobe Flash 10.1, Release Candidate 7 (available at http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashplayer10/), does not appear to contain this vulnerability, and we recommend that everyone upgrade their Flash player as soon as possible. Earlier versions of Adobe Reader and Acrobat, specifically version 8.x, do not appear to contain this vulnerability, either.

I would also like to add that this is NOT a virus. The only way to protect yourself from this kind of vulnerability is to keep your system up-to-date in all ways, including Flash.
Curse Client Google Ad Scam
A few months ago a couple of people got hacked because of malicious google ads redirecting to fake armory pages. (See this news)
The same problem is now affecting the Curse.com client that many of you use to update and download addon.
Whenever you try to reach a popular WoW site (including mmo-champion) always type the URL in your browser's adress bar or bookmark it, don't click links from external websites or google them.
